Tejpaul Bhatia - Chief Executive Officer

Tejpaul Bhatia is the CEO of MediaMerx and is a leading expert on new media, the convergence of television and the Internet, and social media trends.

Prior to founding MediaMerx, Mr. Bhatia was senior manager of international business strategy for ESPN, where he conceptualized and launched ESPN3, the company's customizable global broadband video service currently available in over 50 million homes worldwide. Mr. Bhatia also co-founded Media Strategy Partners, a media asset management consulting company that continues to serve broadcasters worldwide. He began his career as a digital media consultant at Scient and then at Sekani.

Mr. Bhatia appears regularly as a social media commentator and has served as a guest on FOX Business News, and within leading print outlets including Billboard Magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle, TV Technology magazine, and IndUS Business Journal.

Tejpaul Bhatia holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Columbia University. He is a board member for the New Leadership Council of the Make-A-Wish Foundation and also volunteers internationally with GlobeAware.

Vikash Mishra - Chief Technology Officer

Vikash Mishra is the CTO of MediaMerx. Vikash comes to MediaMerx from MTV Networks, where he focused on social networks, leading the development of MTV's first robust application for the Facebook platform. The MTV Music Videos App enables Facebook users to browse, watch, and share MTV's video content from within Facebook while simultaneously enforcing syndication rights.

Prior to MTV, Vikash worked for three years in ESPN's Emerging Media group as the lead flash developer for ESPN360, ESPN's customizable global broadband service. He was responsible for architecting playlists, channels, search, featured videos, and the logic driving user interface behavior. In addition, Vikash maintained the Java framework underlying VADS, ESPN's proprietary video acquisition and distribution system. Vikash joined ESPN in 2003 as an Interactive Television engineer.

Vikash has held positions at The Dewey Hub (an industry-leading interactive phone messaging company); the CUIP (Chicago Public Schools / University of Chicago Internet Project); the University of Chicago Neighborhood Schools Program; and OnTRAC, an educational outreach program serving public schools in Roxbury, MA. In addition to volunteering for Habitat for Humanity in New York, Vikash has been involved with diversity initiatives like OASA and NAMIC and has taken coursework at NYU related to the entertainment business.

Vikash holds a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Chicago and a Bachelors in Music Cognition from Boston University, where as an undergrad he studied music theory, computer science, and neural networks on a four-year Presidential Scholarship.

Da Quan Rong - Developer

Da Quan Rong joined MediaMerx in June 2009 after graduating from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering. Prior to MediaMerx, Da Quan worked as a product validation intern at Intel Corporation, where he developed software to automate processor debug and validation in the summer of 2008.

During his undergraduate years at Columbia University, Da Quan took an active role in student life. He was the Business and Technology Coordinator of Columbia's New Student Orientation Program in 2006, Web Developer at Columbia College IT in 2007, Computer Science Teaching Assistant in 2008, and Webmaster of Columbia's Electrical Engineering department from 2006 to 2009.

Da Quan was on the board the Columbia Association for Computing Machinery for three years and led the group as its president from 2008 to 2009 planning events and working with technology companies to hold tech talks and recruiting events on campus.

Da Quan enjoys programming in Java and PHP, using web technologies, and problem solving. He is passionate about building new and innovative products that help make the world a better place and using the web as a software platform. In his free time, Da Quan likes to read tech and entrepreneurship blogs and brainstorm on the next big idea.

Maneesh Sagar - Advisor

Maneesh is a Managing Director at Visium, a San Francisco based Venture Catalyst working with startups to build visionary companies. He currently serves on the boards of EnvoLabs, MedAdherence, Fandistro, Research Square, CalendarFly, BrainScape, RecreateMyNight, and Sarithi.

Prior to Visium, Maneesh was Managing Director at CT Innovations, the leading VC in Connecticut, where he led investments in the areas of information, media and mobile technology. His investments included Frevvo, Keisense (acquired by Nuance), Legitime Technologies, NetKey (acquired by NCR), Retail Optimization and ShopText, and SmartEquip. He was also on Founding Board of Advisors of HigherOne (NYSE:ONE) Maneesh has over 18 years of hands-on operating experience in international business and technology start-ups, having serving in a variety of positions that spanned corporate and business development, enterprise sales, product marketing and executive management. Maneesh co-founded and was vice president, business development, of NeuVis, where he was instrumental in raising over $80 million from investors including Goldman Sachs, GE Equity and CT Innovations, and growing a 5 person startup into an enterprise software company with over 350 employees. After NeuVis was acquired by IBM Rational, Maneesh earned an MBA from Columbia University's School of Business, graduating in 2003. He previously worked for Vendavo, a leader in pricing optimization solutions, and the office of the chairman and CEO of DataEase (acquired by Symantec). Earlier in his career, Maneesh was a management consultant at Booz & Co., where he worked with Fortune 500 CEOs on issues of strategic import.

Over his career, Maneesh has acquired a firsthand understanding of dynamics of growing technology companies across HR, product development & marketing, business consulting and implementation, sales & partnership management, business development, and IP / legal. He also has substantial International experience, including his work at DataEase, where he worked with the CEO to evaluate and establish a software development partnership for DataEase with Tata Unisys (now TCS) ; at NeuVis he established significant System Integration partnerships with Infosys and Patni ; and at Huntington House, where he was the President, he set-up company offices in New Delhi and Mumbai and drove sales across companies such as Wal-mart, Target, and Ralph Lauren.

A magna cum laude graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University, Maneesh earned his MBA from Columbia University's School of Business, where he was the President of the Technology Business Group. He is actively involved with the Connecticut Venture Group, The Indus Entrepreneurs TriState, Yale Entrepreneurial Society and Connecticut Technology Council. In addition, Maneesh serves as an Alumni Career Coach and is on the Executive Sounding Board of Columbia University's School of Business.
